Question SB Audigy and generic front panel audio connectors

Hi wonder if anyone here can help me..

I have an OEM Sound Blaster Audigy 1394 (Model SB0090 aka SB0230)

Although I do not have an Audigy Drive, my Tower Case does have front panel connectors for FireWire, USB and Audio connectors.

After a brief search on the internet I found some pinout information here

I also found information specific to the pinouts for the ieee1394 connector here, and a pinout diagram here which should allow me to connect the front panel firewire cables.

Unfortunately the pinout information I have for the Audigy Drive header (labelled Aud_Ext on the card) is less descriptive, and I was wondering if anyone here could help me by telling me which cable goes where.

I have six, single wire, cables to connect...

MIC DATA
MIC VDD
MIC GND
EAR L
EAR R
EAR GND

thanks in advance

Yours has the same pinout as the Live! I believe.

I don't really think that the AUD_EXT header has any analog signals. The drive bay thingie is actually a separate sound card with its own DACs and ADCs.

Have a look here,

http://audigy2zshowto.blogspot.com/

If your card has the same J1 connector, AFAIK (and haven't seen anything otherwise) the pinouts are the same on every card that has it.

Correct, all digital.

I don't think the audigy has that J1 connector.

My Xfi has it, as does my A2 ZS. I don't think my A2 did, though.

Some do some don't. As to any other hardware/physical changes I'm not sure, but if an Audigy came out of a dell, I can pretty much guarantee that it has that connector on it.
