DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

I just took the plunge and went to the darkside , Just picked up a new DFI LANparty DK P45-TxRS Plus and a Intel E8600 . I hope to have it up and running this wensday
I have not seen much posted on this board at PC Per so I will post some links on the board , makes some good reading
Good little review of the board
http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/revie...st-system.html
Seems that their are a real active thread of the board
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=191950
edit and note the above thread their are 2 versions of this board the DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS and the cheeper DFI LP DK P45-T2RS after doing alot of reading if your considering this board get the plus version . I am seeing a lot of posts complaining on the non plus version seems that the non plus version uses A1-A2 version of the chipset the newest version , A3 is on the plus version

Re: My DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

Thanks for the links. I used their Winflash utility through Windows with no issues. I see the new bios was for the "cpu not booting" problem which I didn't see so far. I upgraded to the new bios anyway with no issues. Good luck with your build...

just wondering what bios version did you get thru the utility ? Also did it help or add any interesting features ?

Re: My DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

I downloaded the latest bios from 9/1/08. I didn't go through the whole bios as of yet to see if any new unlocked features were there. It would be pretty hard to notice since the bios has a lot of tweaks to begin with...

Re: My DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

thanks for the reply/info . That is the same bios I downloaded .
I have been reading over at Xtreamsystems.org ( see my 1st post for a link )
how these guys are going nuts over this board , . I been reading guys hitting over 600 FSB !
Granted I am not a overclocker and did not buy the board for that reason , but I do like to tweak memory settings , and I like the build quality of the board, thus the reason for buying . But can you believe over 600 FSB ? that is astounding !

congrats on your purchase, looks like a cool board.. never have owned a dfi board, maybe someday. i thought they might go the way of abit,,but them seem to hang around...they must make oem boards? wow, a board under $200.

my e8500 overclocked great, just with the fsb...its 3.1, and i have had it up to 3.5..but put it down some....think its at 3.42 ghz. seems like the e series of core 2 duos are overclockers , and lots of it.

i have look at a lot of p45 boards, i also liked the asus one..and almost bought it last week-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131319

but decided not too,, i just don,t see a lot of performance gains over my abit ip35 pro...though the newer chipset does provide a couple of upgrades that my ip35pro does not have.

keep us updated on your new p45 board.

Re: My DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

rats this board is not working for me . If I disable the jmicron IDE controller the board will not post , just hangs up and where are all the tweaks that make this board famous ? I see no real memory tweaks just a real basic bios I have the latest bios but no joy . This board is going back , I expected better from DFI

well I will probaly go with a biostar T-Power I45 , not real crazy about the layout but it does get good reviews . I was considering the EVGA 750i but I just dont know if I am willing to gamble on that board and seeing I just love my T-Power NF750 I might as well just bite the bullet and stay with biostar

EDIT :
I sent the DFI packin' back to new egg and ordered a nice biostar T-Power I45 . been reading too many good things on this board so I guess this closes my DFI thread I be posting in the Biostar T-Power I45 thread instead

Re: My DFI LP DK P45-T2RS PLUS Thread

Very happy with the DFI and I turned off the Jmicron controller here with no issues. There is quite a few tweaks in the bios (at least for me). Very rock stable and quick board. Sorry it didn't work out for you brothergc.

humor me here , go into your bios and disable the jmicron then set SATA to ACHI mode and what do you get ? warning for me that combo would cause me to lock up on the splash screen . I would have to do a hard reset of cmoss .
Also where are all the memory timing options , all I saw was a basic settings , no where worthy of other DFI boards I have owned . I had a DFI Nforce 4 board with 2 pages of memory options , this board , in that respect is a joke IMO.
Anyway LMK on the bios setting concerning the AHCI and Jmicron disabled , I am currious if it was just me or is their a bug on the board .
Thanks !
PS , I dropped the "My" in the thread title guess the thread is all yours now

Press F9 in the bios, there are 100's of memory timings!

Just got this board 'plus' version. Having a strange issue.

The board is a solid as a rock, prime, occt, hyper pi and memtest stable. However it fails in seconds when running 3d..

Bad graphics card I hear you say.. BUT

If I swap my 2*2 Corsair Dominator 2*2 PC8500 with 2*1 Ballastix 3d runs fine.

So I have a prime stable (on blend) system that locks up in seconds in 3d. I have tried 3 cards (6600GT, 8800GTS(320) and 8800GT) all fail with the Corsair and are fine with the Crucial. However the Corsiar is prime and memtest stable...explainations wanted.

BTW this happens at stock as well.
